Nice! Just having the name "Harvard University" on your resume will make it look more impressive.

Do you know MS Access well?

Well I have designed a couple databases before. This job will be more slight modifications, queries, and some data entry.

Access is Microsoft's version of IBM's old database program. It's actually their best "Office" product. Word and Excel are garbage.

Well Access is a pretty good Database program.

I took an Access class last year. Didn't care for it too much. Databases aren't really my thing.

Word Perfect was better than Word and Lotus 123 was better than Excel.

IMHO

But Billy Bob released Windows 95 and only his company's dumbass software could run on the goshdarned newfangled OS. That's why the feds wanted him to break up his monopoly!

Welcome to America!

Best country ever, but capitalism is not the same thing as democracy and we all better wake the XXXX up before we ruin a good thing.

Vote Democrat.

Yeah, there aren't any choices out there on the market...

WordPerfect is about the same as Word Pro, which is about the same as Writer, which is about the same as Word.

Quattro Pro is about the same as Lotus 1-2-3, which is about the same as Calc, which is about the same as Excel.

Let's see, that's WordPerfect Office, IBM-Lotus Smartsuite, Sun OpenOffice and Microsoft Office. Yeah, there's no choice...

Didn't Access actually come to life after MS bought FoxPro?
based on the Rushmore technology.

Maybe but it existed before that as a market probe

The rumour is that Microsoft bought Foxpro to (a) get rid of an active competitor to Access and to (b) get their hands on Rushmore technology for use in JET (the native Access engine).

When Microsoft bought FoxPro in 1992, its goal was simply to hurt market-leader Borland. The history of FoxPro since then is a perfect case study of how monopoly machinations in the software industry have absolutely nothing to do with developing good software and everything to do with control of the market.

The real jewel in Fox Software's crown was a technology called Rushmore. It was a bitmapped indexing method that made searches literally 1000 times faster.

They bought FoxPro, absorbed Rushmore, releasing Access 1.1 with Rushmore installed. The head of Fox Software became Microsoft's lead database architect.

I was building a database app. on a Unix system about this time. When I went to buy FoxPRO, I was directed to MS, but they hadn't gotten the two companies integrated yet so they sent me a copy of FoxPRO 2.2 FOR FREE! That DB was bullit-proof and was in service for 10 years until replaced earlier this year by corporate and their damned Oracle monster.

Prez I'm sorry I thought I had sent you a congrats. You know once a school finds you they normally come back because it is too much of a hassle to re-look. Also there is generally someone that did not get input so they make more changes to keep them happy. Here's hoping 30 will get you 90
