This patch supercedes the KB823980 patch that was released in mid July.

The patch is available from Windows Update, at least it is for Windows XP Pro.

A Win2k specific exploit has been publicly released, which means that XP/2k3/NT are likely to occur in the near future and along with it incorporation into a worm/virus.

If you haven't disabled DCOM or patched yet, now's the time to do it.
