| I am going to start my first year at college. I am going to NJIT to major in information technology, with a concentration in networking applications. They recommended that I take that concentration because of what I want to do for a career, which is Network Administration.
I completed 4 semesters of the online cisco ccna course and just need to prepare for the exam. I plan to certify in something else before I graduate, I am not sure what my next certification will be though.
Through college I plan to get some intern work relating to my job field, even if it pays or not, and work there as long as I can.
Do you think this is a good track to take to have a good job outlook when I graduate? Should I add or skip some of those steps? Any advice would be great. Thanks. | |

| You seem to have the right attitude, as the route you intend to take is the way to go as qualifications degree's or even certs would not be enough to land a job on the long run. Keep working hard and try to get as much experience as possible to compliment your degree and certs. Best wishes welcome on board as well as feel free to post a question or even participate in this great IT portal. | |
