| Im confused here, of course its microsoft. The MCSE server 2003 says you need 9 exams (6 core exams, 2 upgrade exams, and 1 elective exam). but when I talk to this lady who worked at a prometric center that does the testing, she said their was only 5 exams. A link to microsoft doenst clarify the issue. | |
|
| hmmmmm who to believe?
some lady getting pay 10 bucks an hour to administer test (ie... phone lady, secretary etc etc) or straight from microsoft's site...
Why be so ready to place the blame of confusion on microsoft... it seem quite clear to me which piece of information I will trust until it is proven otherwise.
7 exam, 6 core 1 elective.
upgrade from 2k to 2k3, 2 upgrade exams, 292 and 296.
not 9 exams total.
mcse 2k3, 4 exams 3 core 1 elective. | |

| For Windows Server 2003
MCSA = 4 exams: 3 core, 1 elective
MCSE = 6 exams: 4 core, 1 design, 1 elective

| So which way would be better to go? 2k or 2k3? | |

| 2000. There's a larger likelyhood of jobs to be found with the masses that do have Win2k then in bleading edge technology that the minority has in Windows Server 2003.

I checked at the website... it says
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) candidates on the Microsoft Windows Server?2003 track are required to satisfy the following requirements:
Core Exams (6 Exams Required)
Four networking system exams
One client operating system exam
One design exam
Elective Exams (1 Exam Required)
Together with the core exams, the elective exams provide a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise in solution design and implementation. MCSE candidates should also have at least one year of experience implementing and administering network operating systems and desktop operating systems.
So it will be a total of 7 exams?
I am thinking of taking MCSE 2003 too...starting with 70-270.
This is what i will be doing...
get a book. study. register for exam. pass
ideal case

| You are correct, there is a requirement for a Client OS (210/270) in addition to the 4 core, 1 design and 1 elective.
