Hi everyone,
I have a question for ya. The school I am in has 2 tracks to pick from. The mcse track that is very fast paced and does not offer alot of time for hands on pratice. Or the mcsa track where the last three months are pretty much all hands on.

The school is set up in five 6 week mods. the first is start up (the basics) 2nd is the A+ class 3rd is pro and server I have done these three. Now I have to make a choice on if I go the mcse route. Or mcsa route. If I go the mcse route I go to infrastrcter next. (2 ms exams) then active directory and sequil (I can't spell) 3 ms exams so as you can see with 5 exams in 12 weeks it is very fast paced.

Now If I go the mcsa route I would go to Net+ class then the class for the 70-218 each class being 6 weeks. And we would have alot more lab time. What do you guys suggest?

I am going after cisco right after I am done with this school. and have heard that Net+ will help me out with cisco. Is this true? I have given this school $12,000 so far!! So I want to make the best choice for my money.

Thanks

Wow... i would have thought the opposite - the mcsa track would be rushed, but the mcse track would be more in depth.... not the other way around!

Sorry to be of no help...

I would probably say go the MCSA way for now, you can always pick up the other exams for MCSE afterwards on your own.

The more hands on the better

Yep I agree with enforcer - you need to get as much hands on as possible.

If you want to go the MCSE route eventually then its best to get as much hands on otherwise its not really worth the paper its written on.

Total agreement here. Hands on education helps you better retain the information as compared to the fast paced regurgitation that, unfortunately, some IT classes do.

I feel strongly that you should go the MCSA way, because you need all the hands on training you can get, Once you firmly have the MCSA aspects down you can then study the MCSE.

Thanks for the input guys. I just changed to the mcsa track today. And I also sighned up for a cisco class for when I finish this school. I should have never started with this IT thing I have a feeling I will be in school for a long time. But I'm just having to much fun with it!!

If you enjoy it, thats the main thing.

Good luck with the course
