| Hi,
I purchased a Dell Latitude CPXJ650GT from Dell Auction with no operating system.
I now bought Windows XP Home Operating System Software, Version 2002, Full Version, OEM.... but when I put cd into drive, I just get message: "Invalid system Disc, Relace the Disc, then press any key"...
Can anyone tell me what to do, or do I have the correct software for this?? Thankyou, I really appreciate any help.

| You might need to tell the notebook to boot from CD-ROM or make the CD-ROM drive the first bootable device in the BIOS. Some of the DELL notebooks have where you can press F2 to change the boot device while it is booting. Sounds like your notebook is looking at the hard drive as its bootable device, thus finding no operating system, posts the message that you are seeing.
Try the above and see if you still get the same message. | |

| you say it comes with no operating system
Well how blank is the hd?
try booting it up with out the CD what does it say?
If it says the same thing, which i expect, then you need to format the disk maybe...
although I've never tried it, it would seem to me that XP would format it for you since they do everything else automatically.
Run fdisk from a floppy to check it first |
