| Afternoon EN'ers.
Broadband has just been released in my town! . Yep we are now officially out of the Jurassic period.
My question is, If I have two PC's networked at home and one of them has the broaband connection, can the other one share that connection directly through the network cable like with the 56k modem, or do both comps need new modems?
Any Input appreciated! Thanks again.

| Are you using an internal broadband modem? If so then you can probably just set up ICS.. If not then buy a DSL/Cable router and connect them that way. | |

| I've read somewhere about NTL Broadband not working with networks. But I can't remember where I saw this.
Where are you located? Is it BT who've sorted out your exchange, or is it one of the cable companies?

| Thanks for the quick response.
I've just purchased an Internal ADSL modem.
Bearing, yes It was BT who finally sorted the exchange.
So will the one DSL modem be fine and the set up ICS?

Nothing really bad, just limits you.
for example for the other PC to connect to internet you have have both PC's on.
If you had a external multiport router they could be switched on independently.

Ah right, I see. Hmmmm. At least I'm learning from you guys which is good. What sort of prices are these multiport routers for normal home use?

?
whao, the cost for the purchase of the ADSL modem should be equivalent to the cost that would get you a direct link to the internet/broadband from the 2nd location.
