| I have the remote and the host installed on a client PC i wish to have remote access to.
When I try to start the host on the machine I get the following error:
"The PCAnywhere host on the remote computer could not be started! Please make sure you have sufficient rights to that computer."
This is whilst logged in as domain admin.
Any ideas? | |

| What version and is it set to run as a service? | |

| I recommend TightVNC over PCAnywhere. I've been playing with it, and it's great. Best of all it's totally free. | |

| I've had this happen to me before too.
Create another Adminisrative equivalent
user on the system, then finish what you
need to do. | |

| Oh, yeah. logon as that new user too.
Almost forgot. Sorry. | |

| Have to agree with Boulware5 - I always use VNC unless I am working remotely on a system that someone is currently using. In that case I use Remore Administrator. Direct Connect and PC Anywhere always cause me lots of problems and I find them very resource intensive. | |

Dunno what the difference is between tightvnc and vnc. Anyone know? It looks like the same thing pretty much to me.

Well according to tightvnc.com
quote: ightVNC is a free remote control package derived from the popular VNC software. With TightVNC, you can see the desktop of a remote machine and control it with your local mouse and keyboard, just like you would do it sitting in the front of that computer. TightVNC is:
It has a link to vnc as well so maybe its just their own version. I was hjust wondering if there were any different features.

| Additionally from the TightVNC website
quote: Here you can find an enhanced version of VNC, called TightVNC, which includes a lot of new features, improvements, optimizations and bugfixes over the original VNC version, see the list of features below. Note that TightVNC is still free, cross-platform and compatible with the standard VNC. Many users agree that TightVNC is the most advanced free remote desktop package. And it's being actively developed so you can expect that TightVNC will become even better.
TightVNC can be downloaded from:

| Can we please go back to the Topic and help this Guy out?

Tell us about the OS, you are using, and what Version of PC Any are you using. Also, is it across a Network or over the Internet?
Is there a Router between the Workstations?
Is on the Hostmachine a Caller configured? |
