I currently am using a notebook connected to a projector to give presentations. I was thinking of purchasing the Margi display to go pcmcia vga adapter. What I am wanting to do is this: my notebook screen will allow me to see what will be projected and the pcmcia card would actually do the projecting. My problem is I cannot justify the $299 for the card. My projector has USB is this another option? I want to incorporate dual monitors, I could easily add anohter PCI video card into a standard workstation and accomplish what I need to do, just don't want to carry that box around with me. That is why I am looking into way to do this with a notebook and a very low budget. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

Are you saying you cannot see what is being projected on the screen and on the notebook at the same time now?

What brand of projector are you using?

What is the notebook you are using?

My reason for asking is where I work, we have an Infocus projector that can get quite tempermental depending on which notebook a user attaches to it. Seems to involve the screen size and frequencies the notebook is configured for.

No I can see what is on the notebook screen and the projector and they are the same. I am looking to use a piece of software which supports dual video cards so while one image is being presented I could use the notebook to get the next picture ready to project on the projector. Instead of seeing the same thing on the notebook screen and projector I am looking to provide different pictures.

why not use powerpoint or other such presentation software, i am sure star office has a version in their office suite if you do not have powerpoint or wish to spend the cash.

jkhnwspec, that is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!! I guess now I need to see if this notebook I have will allow me to do this. I tried with another monitor and it didn't like that so maybe a projector will be different. This notebook has a NeoMagic MagicMedia256AV and I have an internal and external display option. Although when I tested this with the monior I had checked CRT/Projector and also selected the set dual display options. I will test out tonight. Thanks again!
