Author Tracking number of emails

Perhaps someone can assist me with this. I have a department that would like to track the number of emails that each employee is receiving. We are using Exchange Server 5.5, Outlook 97, and Windows NT as the desktop OS. Our Exchange Server team states that they cannot track the number of emails a user receives (or they won't track it), so I would like to configure something on the desktop to do so. Any ideas on Outlook settings, scripting, or freeware that might do the trick?

Thanks.

Ex 5.5 can log e-mails sent & received although I there is no way I know of to generate an easy-to-read report from the logs. Sorry I can't be of more help.

What is the default name of the log file then. Perhaps I can get access to the file and create a batch file that will pull the info.
