| I have installed pcAnywhere on 2 networks. On the NT domain based network. I installed a host. No remotes are able to do full screen. The icon on the tool bar is grayed out. This is version 10.5. I do not have this problem on the Win2K network. Any help would be appreciated. | |

| Windows NT Compatibility Issues
==============================
==============================
==========
For optimal performance on Windows NT, you should configure your
hosts to run as a service.
To improve performance on Windows NT 4.0:
1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
2. Double-click System.
3. On the Performance tab, move the slider all the way to
the left.
Foreground and background tasks are now equally responsive.
You might experience difficulty changing desktop resolution and color
depth on Windows NT 4.0 under certain conditions, such as when
installing new video card hardware or changing between VGA (safe mode)
and back again.
To resolve this problem:
1. Uninstall pcAnywhere.
2. On the Windows taskbar, click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
3. Double-click Display.
4. On the Settings tab, select the resolution settings that you
want to use.
5. Reinstall pcAnywhere.
When using NT authentication, you must grant Log On Locally rights
to the NT domain user account. If the NT domain user account does
not have this NT user right, users will not be able to log on to the
host.
If you experience problems with applications being removed from the
Windows System Tray after logging on to Windows NT, disable Active
Desktop on the host computer. Additionally, in pcAnywhere,
deactivate the "Disable host's Active Desktop" option.
To disable Active Desktop on the host:
1. In the pcAnywhere Manager window, on the Tool menu, click Options.
2. On the Remote Operation tab, uncheck Disable host's Active Desktop.
3. Click OK.
NT 4.0 hosts configured for SPX protocol will remain in the remote's
SPX host list as an available host after the host has been canceled.
To solve this problem, you must add the SAP agent to your host's
network configuration.
To add the SAP agent:
1. On the NT host, on the Windows taskbar, click Start > Settings >
Control Panel.
2. Double-click Network.
3. Select Services.
3. Click Add.
4. Select SAP Agent.
Note: Service packs must be reinstalled after adding the SAP Agent.
On rare occasions, pcAnywhere hosts configured with the host setting
Lock NT Workstation might experience a problem in which the user
cannot type a user name or password on either the host or remote
computer. Press Ctrl+Alt to unlock the keyboard.
I will continue hunting .... | |

| Today, I finally figured out why I couldn't get any PC to do a remote connection and get full screen functionality.
The server to which we are connecting is using VGA settings, and the remote PCs all have settings in excess of SVGA. If I downgrade the video settings of a remote PC, the full screen works. |
