didn't i say "swallows"? mind you, if it was spitting, it really would be a sign of an impending typical british summer. and we would be trading our gumbies for souwesters

Hell - doesn't summer in blighty mean anything over 20C and being able to see through the fog (can replace with smog or cloud depending on the area) for more than 2 hours a day?

No swallows as yet and the blossom hasn't dropped yet, so still room for some frosts...

I'd say anything over 17C and yes they were forecasting smog in London and the south east yesterday(personally I blame Bush and his polluting Texan factories.)

Not sure if this is just a Scottish thing but shops here often advertise their miscellaneous wares as "Fancy Goods" - which I think is a marvellous expresssion to cover assorted crap.

We haven't had significant rain for three weeks. None forecasted, till we started digging our road and the foundation for our house. We should get it dug before the two-days' worth starts. I think our base is going to slide down the hill before we can get the piers in. Then it won't rain again for a couple of weeks.

temps have been mild, though, not even too hot, which for LA (Lower Alabama) is quite a statement for anytime after Feb 12.
