Deleting a computer account in AD

| I have a machine that is off the network. I have deleted the computer account from the AD and there is no entry in DNS. When I add a new machine with the same hostname it's saying this computer name already exist in the domain. How do I totally remove the computer name from the AD so I can add it again on a different machine | |

| I am assuming that your attempt to reuse the name exceeded the time neccessary to replicate the deletion throughout the domain. | |

| Another thought. If your boxes use Netbios over tcpip, perhaps the netbios name is floating around somewhere in cache, etc. |
