Can anyone explain or tell me how to fix a sent items folder problem? When ever I delete the messages in this folder my space gets doubled. Several times I have lost me sent items, when I click on it it would say not enough memory to open or low on system resources. I figured there was a corrupt file somewhere, but is there any way to prevent this from happening?

Have you tried deleting the actual file which stores the sent items from the hard drive.

It may not be a corrupt message, but a corrupt "sent items" file.

Copy all the folders somewhere. Delete them from the original location. Recreate your in outlook express, this will recreate the files.

Then use the import feature to import the old messages from where youcopied them to.

I would not recommend reimporting the "sent items". Try it without importing them for a while and if everything is ok. Then import them and see what happens.

Sounds like Outlook Express needs to be reinstalled.

(If possible, use the full-blown Outlook instead.)

You should most likely be able to save and reuse the old data files (.pab, .pst) once you reinstall.
