| Just found out today will be moving to SC. Company I interviewed with a few weeks ago is expanding into area. Will be moving around end of next month. Have driven through but never stopped, anyone live in or around Columbia and have an opinion of the area pro or con? | |

| My brother lives near Columbia..from what I gathered when I visited him, its a nice town, friendly, not overwhelmingly big..but a much better scenery than compared to Cleveland muhahahaha | |

Thx, for the input, I feal your pain on the Cleveland scenery. I think we use the same decorator, rundown mills, abondoned industrial parks, EPA condemned brownfields, poluted rivers(caution: do not eat fish from river),closed city parks and gov't housing projects everywhere. I can't wait to leave.  | |

| I was raised in a small farming community about 50 miles outside of Columbia.
Of course we did go to Columbia a lot to go shopping, see movies or buy a car and other things you would do in a big city. The State Fair was there also and that was always a blast.
I have not been around there since 1992 but I can say with 100 percent certainty that at least at the time it was a WONDERFUL place to live. The people are friendly, the cost of living is low and there was a general laid back attitude. The girls are pretty too.
I have often told myself that I should get back there just to see how much it has changed- or if it has changed.
I hope you are OK with the "Gamecocks" becasue they live breath that up there. | |

| Thx ANDRONDA, have heard nothing negative about the area thus far. Will be going down in a week or so to find an apartment. |
