I would like to request some assistance regarding a problem I am having with an HP 940C printer in Windows XP Pro. I have upgraded to XP Pro and my printer is not working now. I have downloaded the latest XP drivers with no success.. I have unistall/re-installed printer but nothing.. I have even downloaded the drivers for older HP printers (600-890) but printer still not working.. When I press the resume button on the printer the test page prints fine.. I have unistall the printer and shut down windows so the printer would be install automatically by Windows but it did not even recognized the printer.. I looked at the device manager and there is a (!)..error 29..on LPT1.. Printer would not print from any windows programs nor DOS command.. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. I use a pararell cable and it is good... I appreciate any assistance regarding my printer problem... (printer was working fine under Win ME & 98SE).. thanks

I assume that HP printer is the latest, so it shall work on update PC.

Did u check the cable?
If is the same cable, still double check.
If OK
Try to connect with other PC..
It shall work.
If YES, we solve the problem
If NOT, something wrong with installation of XP Pro.
