| Which answer is correct because I have two study guides. One indicates (A) is correct and the other is (B). Help me out.
You change video resolution on your Windows 98 computer and reboot. You see nothing on your screen as it boots. The hard drive finishes loading the operating system. How can you safely reboot the computer so you can access Safe Mode? (Choose the best answer.)
(A) PRESS CTRL+ALT+DELETE TWICE
(B) PRESS ALT+F4 AND THEN PRESS ENTER
Which is correct? | |

| (A)
That will restart the computer. You have to press and hold down the F8 key, though, as the computer is booting to get into safe mode (so hitting ctrl-alt-del twice won't get you into safe-mode by itself).

Do you have a system with Win 98 on it? Can you try this?
Not picking on you but if you physcially try this, you will see for yourself the what each option will do for you.
PS - ALT+f4 will close open programs or, if nothing is open will prompt you to a shut down menu.
Give it a try | |

| pressing Alt+F4 will give you a shutdown menu if there is no other program open.
however there are 4 or more options and the option that was chosen the last time you accessed the shutdown menu will be highlighted. so therefore, the ctl-alt-del is a more correct answer as B could shut down the system, put it into standby, etc.

what happens if you alt-F4, then hit enter in window 95A?
answer: nothing.
Alt+F4 brings up a dialog box asking if you want to shut down. the default is no. so to shutdown, you must arrow down one after the alt+F4. |
