| Do you intend on just installing XP again? If so then boot off the CD and go through the setup instructions. From there you cab format the drives if you want.
If you are trying to go back to 9x then you will need to boot off a 9x boot disk(which is sounds like you did). Then run FDISK from there you will need to delete your old partitions and create a new FAT32 partition(if your old one was NTFS, and I am assuming it was) After you create the new partition you will need to reboot then you can format the drive. Then install your copy of 9x. | |

| The Win XP setup have the option to repartition the HD. | |

| That you can post here means that you have access to a computer. Download a bootdisk from here and use that to boot to a DOS prompt. Run fdisk and start from there. | |

| You put in the XP CD and ran setup from whatever version of Windows you were running before, then rebooted. Running setup this way installs the setup files on your hard drive. To run it totally from the CD, go into your BIOS and tell the system to boot from the CD first, reboot and boot from the CD. Then you will be able to delete the partition and reformat your hard drive from within Setup. |
