Hi Guys,

HP 4108gl switch

I want to clear the 'counters' on ports (interfaces) and the command seems to be:

clear statistics <port-list>

I can clear single ports, ie A1 or B23, etc but what I want to do is clear all of them (or at least all ports in each module in turn).

How do I specify the port-list please?

I've tried all sorts of combinations of:

a1 : a24
a1 - a24
a1 / a24
etc.

Any advice welcome!

Try separating the port list with a comma.

Such as a1,a24

No spaces between the comma.

Hi,

thanks for your help.

That works and I can use it but I was hoping to be able to specify all of the ports in each module in one simplified statement, ie 'a1 to a24', etc.

I can use a1,a2,a3, etc but it's a bit tedious. I was looking for the lazy way...

If I understood what I read (downloaded the manual for this switch), a1,a24 should grab all the ports in between. Kind of like a range statement in Excel a1..a24. But apparently it doesn't?

Hi,

yes, I tried that the other day. It seems to read the command as 'clear int 1' and 'clear int 24'.

I'll just have to do it the hard way!

thanks

You are Welcome!

I do hope you find a way though.
