He was talked about often in the A+ forum. Paisley says he is in Japan. He WAS on here not to long ago.

| I was wondering why he is still Mod in the A+ forums. | |
|
| There's some that ask why Enforcer is still a mod ..... | |

"Randy" AKA "Mr. Linux Guy" AKA "I Hate Pascal". I am in Japan teaching Engrish part time and doing development for Solaris and Red Hat full-time. I forgot my "Mr. Linux Guy" password so still lurk as the equally detestable "I Hate Pascal". Although I rarely post as I seem to cause fits in most people here now, I still check in from time to time. I have no clue why I am still mod of the A+ forum.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a lot of Sapporo to get rid of before the next day dawns . . .
Happy Weekend All . . . | |

Hello Tracey,
Yes, all is well. I never write anything down so it causes problems when I have to log into non-local servers. Hope you and your kids are doing fine. Happy whatever to anybody who celebrates whatever it is that they celebrate now.

No one here has the "power" to reset it?

Probably, but I haven't asked anyone. Maybe I'll PM Dmitri and axe him to reset the bastard's passwd.

Wouldn't that be /etc/passwd?

Actually, it would be /etc/shadow if the WM has shadowed his passwords correctly.

So that's where I went wrong.

So you've turned cracker have you? /etc/shadow should be readable only to root, whereas /etc/passwd needs to be world-readable for practical purposes. Makes cracking much harder.

| surely, if you still use the email address that you signed up to examnotes with, there is a link somewhere that can be used to request forgotten passwords. | |

| i've kind of gotten used to friends being based in new york.
though i suppose they could get a few episodes of monica and chandler deciding to move and convincing all their friends to follow, but i don't see how joey would want to leave a city like the big apple as there are bound to be less acting opportunities there, and phoebe probably has a decent client-base in new york and rachel wouldn't move coz she wouldn't have the same kind of shops there, and ross works in new york, etc etc.

| Mr. Linux Guy is gone?
Okay! Let's just accept it and try and obtain closure on his departure ..
I am a psychic detective and here's your card .. Death?
Maybe he is of Japanese nationality and he hacked his last Linux hack ever and his real name is Mr. Anderson?
The F.B.I. tracked his I.P. and no longer know whether to arrest or employ him?
He is singlehandedly reviving the Japanese economy and so is busy?
Moving onto the 'tiger' economies ..
