| Anyone Ever have a problem with this company.
I recently went to there page and saw good potential for courses. So i decided to register for the one that said free courses and a chance of winning a computer.
So A week passes and a get a call from Smartcertify. The agent on the phone was the rudest person i have ever dealt with. She asked me where i worked. So i started telling her that i work for an isp. Then she starts talking condesending like " Well in your line of work it dosent seem to me that there is true need for a certification" I decided not to really take it to heart and continue without hanging up. I then explained that i need these certain certs for work java and oracle. Its just what my job requires. She asked me how i study for these. I told her i currently am reading a book. Then she said again, "Well it dosent seem like you want our products, does it! I said well if you put it that way. I guess i dont at this moment but in the future i would have considered it. I then ended the conversation very unpleased with the way the whole interaction went..
Thats my 2cents
Anyone else ever deal with this company.

| I had a similar experience - actually almost the same experience with BeachFront a couple of years ago. They called me, and I told them I didn't want their products, and the conversation went on and on to the point where the guy said "Well, I guess you want to fail all of your exams then" and he slammed the phone down. | |

| I had the same conversation with SmartCertify a few years ago. The guy kept cutting me off and making rude comments. After a few minutes I told him he was being extremely rude. After he made another rude comment, I hung up with him.
I got a follow up call a few days later from someone else, and the same thing happened again.
Then they called me a few weeks later. After the first rude comment, I went off on the lady.
I don't see how they stay in business.

| Smart Certify can kiss my XXX. And Im being nice. Some lady called my house one day and said are you looking to get your certification right? I said yeah.. she's like how are you studying. I said Im waiting for the Windows 2000 books to come out... she said those books are incomplete and do not have correct information, but our program does. She said all the tests will be included in the program yada yada yada.
I said cool, training on CD and free tests.
Right? Wrong. Come to find out they send me THREE out of the SEVEN cds for the first half year, then mysteriously they kept sending me the rest of the cds. The cds were HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. They were shitty cdrs that were burnt incorrectly and many i had to end up reburning myself. But then I picked up a book and started reading and compared it to the cd. I'll never touch or buy another cd for any type of training.
Nonetheless I convinced my parents to pay for the cds (I was 18 at the time). $2300.
Its three years later and I still owe my folks $1500 for cds they paid for. I said screw it and decided to buy books instead.
The tests werent free. So anyone paying for any type of CD training, remember this, its a scam, unless it comes with the BOOK you are buying.

| Ahh yes ... Smart Certify Direct. Working there was like sticking a piping hot needle through my eye very slowly. Don't be mad at me though, I didn't call any of you. I only made it 2 weeks before I had to leave. It was part of my punishment for moving to sunny Florida where there are no tech jobs. That's a different story though.
Anyway, they try to teach their employees the art of finding out your "Big Problem" and then exploiting it to get you to feel bad and fork over all your cash. Picture a big room of cubicles with over 100 loser a$$XXX#$ in it looking at pieces of paper with names of mostly people who wanted to win something. Thank god that's over. 100% commission based by the way.
The best product they offer is an online library that includes all of the classes and tests they offer for you to download at will for a certain period of time. They are email-mentored programs with automated daily email questions. The courses come in different formats like Flash presentations with sound (CIW) and other stand alone formats as well (Oracle). The pricks at Smart Certify will let you pay $1200 for the A+ content when they are instructed to go as low as $2000 for full access to the entire library for two years. By the way the library in my opinion has mucho info on everything from all the different databases to programming languages to project management. In my opinion the library, and only the library, is worth it if your semi-new to IT and want to see what all the different technologies are like. I'm in no way an advocate for them but the above is true. I'm also a firm believer that you need to reference two different sources no matter who they are to get different approaches on the subject matter.

I was getting calls from them at least once a week for three months, untill i finally told them where they can stick their software.
Lesson learned:
Don't sign up for free stuff if you have to give your tele#

| These guys called me last year. Guy told me "Certification is a never ending process right?" I said, "Not for me..." Hes like "Well you know we got this MCSE package..." I said "Look man, I already got screwed by Smart Certify a few years ago, what makes you think Im going to buy your stuff, and secondly I only have two tests (at the time) for my MCSE. Bye." Click.
Never heard from em again, never cared to.
