We need to make Linux illegal...

| It is nothing but a hackers operating system and it should be illegal. Everyone should use legal operating systems like MS Windows. | |

You poor soul.... why would we do something like that? Doesn't Bill Gates have enough of our money already?
|
| Wasn't Linus a character from the Peanuts cartoon?
Why d'you wanna make him illegal?
That ain't fair | |
| Boulware5 2003-12-12, 3:23 am |
| Well me thinks M$ operating systems should be made illegal and everyone should be forced to use *nix. | |

| This guy is a joker with an irrelevant point on Linux. Linux is a fine OS free in some ways and challenging for the elites | |

| Linux is a form of communism that needs to be crushed. Linux will be the downfall of captialism if it isn't stopped. That is why it must be stopped. Report any commie bastards using linux to the homeland defence department so they can deport to communist Europe where they belong. | |

| If we made Linux illegal, where would all the ubergeeks go? | |
|
|
| ruscorp 2003-12-12, 12:45 pm |
| Damn Linux communists like Boulware5! They need to be converted to Windows so they can spend the good word. | |
| jimbo2002 2003-12-12, 2:44 pm |
| OK, lets say you made it illegal to use Linux, think of the possible consequences. You would drive Linux users underground, groups of desperados determined to use Linux, bitter and dedicated, they decide to form their own resistance movement, planting the famous Linux penguins in public places. The public cant take it anymore, they are having nightmares about penguins, scared to go outside their own doors for fear of being confronted by a giant penguin. The government is at a loss, what to do. The Linux Independance Movement is demanding their own land, a land of their dreams where they can freely and openly use Linux all day if they want. Its to be called LINUXLAND. They get their wish with the worlds blessing.Everyone is happy in LINUXLAND, Until one day, a dictator who calls himself Big L takes over, Linuxland gets its own nukes, turns real nasty, nukes chrisdfers house. | |

Will there be politicians running on the Linux Independence Movement ticket?

| Linux users of the world, unite!
From each, according to his coding abilities. To each, according to the free space on his hard drive.
Windows is the opiate of the masses.

I agree. Linux was a good idea for its time, but Plan 9 is a much more sensible operating system (with the appropriate randypatches applied of course). Plan 9 makes Linux and even BSD look obsolete.
This is coming from a die-hard C hacker and a general aresehole so take it for what it is worth.

XXXX Linux, REAL ubergeeks write their own OS's. In assembly. So there.

Gravity is simply intolerance. Free-floating is the natural state of man/woman.

I mean I like Linux just fine, but if you can tine your code so that it is tense enough to nearly bust, you have got to write in assembly. My last OS only took 840K.
I'll admit that it wasn't very useful, but it was awfully interesting to play with . . .

I don't think I would do good at Jeopardy . . . for one thing, they occasionally have "pop" topics like current movies or some such stuff. I consider movies with sound/colour a corruption of an originally pure art form and refuse to watch them. Also, although I sound quite intelligent in writing, I sound like an idiot in real life. I think the wires connecting my brain to my mouth have corroded through lack of use. I generally sound stupid and unresponsive in person, although usually intelligent in writing.
If Jeopardy was played like letter-chess, I might have a chance, otherwise, I'd get wiped out.
At any rate, I have never heard of a Jeopardy question about optimising memory allocation in microkernels.

I am using C for my kernel with some inline ASM.

Hehe, I'm such a loser. After a days hard work I eat dinner and watch Jeopardy. I usually scream at the TV when people answer simple questions wrong.

| I hate Jeopordy. I move that there be an IT version of Who Wants to be a Billionier. While there at it, replace Regis with Catherine Bell or Pamila Anderson...
The sky is the limit as far as potential, but people never see it.

| Who is this moron to be bashing the last true vestige of freedom. Linux is freedom!
Linux battles the greed of Bill Gates and his hordes.
| DaDnDe 2003-12-22, 10:50 pm |
| tsk tsk tsk...
let me guess, you also think the revolutionaries were traitors?
i notice that you fail to mention Apple...
is this because you consider MS to have the only operating system?
actually i think you tried to compile your own linux kernal and it wouldnt run, hence the attitude...
you remind me of Saddam...
during his interview when he couldnt give a lame excuse or blame someone else for his actions his reply was "F this" and "F that"
at least your language is acceptable...

He's the same age as me. How many kids do you think he has?
I say, he's still a virgin.
|
|
| DaDnDe 2003-12-24, 3:40 pm |
| ya i guess yer right...
besides... having kids would have to assume he has a partner...
that would be hard to believe...
oh course, i guess the partner wouldnt necessarily have to be conscious or sane...

| Pthhhh. Woah talking about my sex life now instresting indeed. I am debating whether I should defend myself here or not but I really think that would be going the low road. I will take the high road since I am so much better then you all.
