hmmm... not a bad article. so supposing you (personally) never wanted to work again, how much bish-bosh would you want to have in the Anne Frank before you chucked in your job?

At least an amount that would be able to get me a yearly interest of at least twice what I'm earning gross plus £30,000 a year for a new car each year + £350,000 to buy a decent house outright.

Hi,

I worked with a guy about six years ago and he'd just made a couple of million pounds (Sterling) on a business deal.

He said at that time that you can't live a 'millionaires lifestyle' on less than about five million (Sterling), about 7.5 million US Dollars.

Of course, you could manage a decent lifestyle without working, on much less than that, as many retired people do.

I reckon if your house is paid for and you have a decent car to start with, then an income of 20K per year would be plenty. If you had, say, 500K Sterling (750K US Dollars) in the bank then you'd be 'comfortable'.

And for someone with a mortgage, a few kids and not enough in wages, you'd be 'rich'.

Regards
Peter

I have a daughter, my only child, who has lived with my ex-wife, her mother, for 16 years. Aside from being apart and about 2 hours away via car I have stayed close to my daughter and she with me her entire young life, we never went more than two weeks without seeing each other and doing fun things together.

This past week I moved into a house and my daughter moved in with me.
This week I feel like a rich man.

On my deathbed I will not remember my bank accounts, stocks, etc.

But I will remember this week...I know it.

Wealth is relative. If your neighbor has more then you, or you get paid less then everyone at work you will feel you are not as rich as you would like to be.

Better known as 'keeping up with the Jonses'.

If you want to be rich, take a trip to a second or third world country and see how really good you have it.

£5/hour, that's a bargain I'm pulling in about £175 a day at the moment.

I am healthy and my husband is healthy and our children are healthy. We have a friend whose youngest son has Duschenne's Muscular Dystrophy. We feel rich.

That son is now 22 years old, and when he was diagnosed at age 4, he wasn't expected to live to be 10. They feel rich.

Neither they nor we have wealth. Neither they nor we have debt. Nobody can take from us what we have because we own everything free and clear. We have opportunities to work for others and to work for ourselves. We have more than we need so we can help someone who can't seem to make it happen for themselves. We know from whom these blessings flow.

We are rich.

Hey Yanqui how you been,

I feel rich when I walk around Walmart and see the clothes for next to nothing, knowing full well that some child in a sweatshop worked a 12 hour day making them, but hey its not my kids.

I've been BUSY! Love it that way, but I'm wishing we had 27-hour days or that I could get by on three hours less sleep. I'm NOT one who sleeps too much, but I've just got twelve irons in the fire.

I felt very rich a couple of weeks ago, when I thought about the car accident I was in. Several factors could have made it far worse, one being that my children were not with me when it happened, another that the injuries were minor, and the third that I was in a good vehicle. Now, I don't believe a whole lot of that was luck, but I know Ruscorp would. We pray for protection every day before we part company in the morning. Had i been first in line when the car behind me was hit, I would have been pushed out into the path of a car or large truck coming downhill at highway speed. We have good health that enables us to work and we have intelligence and information and good raising behind us that allows us to plan and purchase good vehicles and (thank GOD!) all of us involved had good insurance. It could have been coincidence that it wasn't any worse, but I just don't believe it.

Anyway, when we get that handled, get our own vehicle back or replaced (or both) then we get to get back onto our home-made housebuilding project and farm-equipment manufacturing process, and my two website development projects and business launch. And the fact that I can do any of these things makes me feel VERY rich.

Hi, Hooligan--what's next on your project list?
