Did you change the boot settings in your BIOS and forget about it? Does your hard disk show up in POST?

Have you tried to repair the installation via the 2000 install CD?

Is there a floppy in your drive?

If it weren a non-system disk, you would get an error message such as NTLDR missing.

That has happened to some computers on our network. After we flashed the BIOS, it booted up fine.

Try that and see if it helps.
