I am trying to network two computers using a crossover cable and windows 2000 professional. I can not seem to get the computers to read the other's hard drive data. I can not map a network drive eventhough it says it is connected. Can anyone help me?

Did you assign an IP address to each machine?

are the drives shared out, are you using the same username and passwords, have permissions been given that allow access.

Default shares exist with <drive letter>$ (ie c$ for c drive) but only for people in the administrators group
