Just Cannot figure this one out

| I am having trouble with something on my computer. You know how you can do the "Ctr, Alt, Delete" thing to close running programs, well I am unable to do this. When I press the Ctrl key, I hear a beep sound coming from the speakers. And the running program dialog box will not open.
Does anyone have any idea what will cause this, and what can I do, to even see what programs are running and how to end some of them. Usually when I do this, I can do the C, A, D thing and when the box open I just "end task" of a particular program. I can't now. What's up with this.
Any information will be appreciated. | |

IF winnt based, go Start->Run->taskmgr
If win 9x based go Start->Run->taskman | |

| Once you get your keyboard fixed, remember that alt-F4 will kill the active window or take you to shutdown if desktop is the active window. | |

I am running Windows 98SE...by the way..
Looking at my keyboard, it does look pretty dusty down inside or beneathe the keys. I popped the "CTRL" key off and sorta wiped around it, still beeps when pressed, but I think I may have to get a can of compressed air to blow all the mess out. In the mean time thanks for all the suggestions:  |
