| Hey everyone,
My computer started making this crazy ambulance sound! This started when I booted up and I am not sure how to disable it. It is not coming from the speakers, but from the internal speaker. I tried in the cmos settings and no alarms were enabled?
If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

| Ambulance sound? That isn't just a .wav file that plays at startup is it? | |

| nah, it is something in the hardware. Now, after inspection, the hard drive is also making some sort of crazy whistling sound. Like the head is dragging or there is some kind of friction. ???

| Something else, do you guys know if any hard drives have an alarm that might sound if the drive gets too hot, or if there is a physical error?
I have a western digital 20gb.
By the way, Mr. Linux guy, it is an honor.

| When some CPU fans quit they issue an audible siren type alarm.
Try opening up the case and viewing it while the alarm goes off to see if you can detrmine this. | |

This is usually a power supply or mother board problem. You need to call MicroTek tech support.

| I've seen older PC cases where if you didnt fully close the case there is a miniature button than sounds an annoying alarm. |
