Now that I have my A+ and Network+ certs, I don't know what cert to get next. I want to get my Mircosoft cert but there are so many MSCE's that it might not matter if I get the cert. Do I go for Cisco? MCSA? Where do I go next? I need help.

It all depends on what you want to do, only you can decide which way to go. True, there are a lot of MCSE's out there. But there are also a lot of Cisco certified people too. It all comes down to what you feel more comfortable doing. Hope this helps some, but probably not.

You might want to consider security, looks like where i'll be going next.

maybe you'd want to do comptia's Inet+, since it's supposed to be somewhat similar to Network+ (from what i've heard).

comptia's security+ should be a good security cert.

Do you want a pure tech job?
Then go for mcse cisco
Do you want to go into management eventually?
Maybe do an mcsa and then a management course
Do you want to be a programmer?

There are loads of opportunities, you just need to focus and say yes I like doing that and specialise. No one knows everything, but you can know a lot about one thing and hopefully they will pay you bucket loads of cash for it.!!!

What do you do at the moment, if I may ask?

I want to be a pure tech support person, the one the fixes computers and laptops. Installing and working on networks. I think I'll go for that new MCSA cert and I'll look into this Security+ cert as well.

Not much call for "specialists" in my area.
"Generalists" are in pretty good demand.
By that I mean Say you have an MCSE or CCNA and you get a networking or systems admin job.
Well in the network admin job your is still going to be working on the servers, website building, pbx, making recomendations for application and system purchases, almost everything electronic will be your baby, all this along with your networking responsibilities.
Also you can't forget.... "other duties as may be required."
There isn't a whole lot of specializing going on.
Now in a large company I imagine this is not the case.
I wouldn't know.
But in a rural area most orginizations are small to midsized.

By the way I think thats a sound combination to start out with.
Especially with the ones you already have.

Well, it seem I'll be going for my MCSA. I'll be getting Mike Meyers passport book for the Windows 2000 test.
