| i have a win 98 pc with norton antivirus 2002 on it.i got some viruses recently,that are detected,and the infected files are being either deleted or quarantined.one of the files infected is win.ini that i think is important and i don't dare to touch it.the problem is that the virus shows up again and again and i can't get rid of it.
please help with any suggestions. | |

| Well,
You could make a copy of that file, e.g : Find it , and copy it, rename that copy to say... "win_backup.ini". And then let the Norton deal with it.
If for some reason you need to revert then you can simply rename that backup to "win.ini" .
I doupt that there is any prob with win.ini .... you can open it and check it out.

It could be a trojan, just run your antivirus proggi , scan the whole system Get rid of any proggi that you dont use or think you didn't install.
Make sure you have the latest virus definations, download them.
