Have been trying all ways to get this done with no success. Is this possible to do
It's possible, however, you are better off using NAT through RRAS.
For ICS, run the Internet Connection Wizard on the server. Test the connection, making sure you can access the Internet normally. Once everything tests out. Disconnect from the Internet. Right-click the Internet connection you created in Network and Dial-up Connections, and choose properties, when the tabbed dialogue appears, choose the sharing tab, put a check in the box where it says: Enable Internet Connection Sharing for this connection.
Next, go to your XP clients and change the Local Area Connection's TCP/IP properties to get its IP address automatically from DHCP by placing a check in the boxes of its TCP/IP properties to enable it. Right click Local Area Connection inside Network and Dial-up Connections, choose properties from the context menu. When the Local Area Connection's properties come up, select the TCP/IP protocol and choose properties. Make the necessary changes as per describe.
After making the changes, go to a command prompt and type: ipconfig /renew and then hit enter. Make sure the IP address changes to 192.168.0.2 with a 255.255.255.0 subnet mask. (192.168.0.1 has been assigned to the ICS server) Test the connections. |
