| OK, seriously off topic here. Have a fiend who was recently diagnosed with SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, for those of you here not familiar with TLA's). I know this is usually not fatal nowadays, but I know that it is not good either. Anybody have any personal experience as to how to deal with this? Any tips might be appreciated. | |

| A friend was diagnosed with it a while back. I downloaded a ton of info for her to read. I remember that she had to start living healthy, knock the cigarettes and booze on the head, improve her diet and lose weight.
She was doing fine last time I saw her. | |

| OK, that sounds good. I know it can be fatal, but rarely is nowadays if treated. But I was just kind of wodnering how much it would affect the person's life. The periodic flareups of pain and fatigue must make things hard, but I guess it depends on the severity of the disease. Thanks for the reply. | |

| Yeah she had a miserable time adjusting to her new healthy habits, and some days she couldnt get out of bed. At least you can do something about it as opposed to other diseases, Sorry I dont have any info but I remember. I do remember that there were a lot of support groups out there. |
