When I am using backup in Win 98, how do I know what extension should I used? For example, backing up a file from My document. The file name is called Post. I use the back up and it asked me where and what I want to save and call the file. I want to save it to A drive call it post but what extension should I used? . doc because it is a word document?
Thanks

If youre using a backup program to backup one file, why? Just copy it to the floppy, maybe compress it first with winzip or similar if its too big and you need to span disks

If, say you want to back up the entire Mydocs folder (or hdd) then using MSBAckup is probably quite a good idea.. you cab call the file "banana.rep" if you like, its only once the backup file's been restored that the file extension matters...
