| Whats everyones opinions on two year degrees? Are degrees from places like Heald college and ITT-TECH worth anything? I'm currently enrolled in a two year degree program but am transfering to a different school to earn a 4 year degree based on what I been told from people and based on what I noticed in the job market. A few people in the industry told me that a two year degree is worth less then certifications and that if I was going for a degree that in order for it to even be worth it I need to get some sort of 4 year degree. But I was just wondering what everyone here thought. | |

| well i know a friend of mine who got a 2 year BS degree. after that he applied for Glasgow Univ. and he got accepted as a Graduate Student. He's now on his way with Masters in Business Admin.
If ur talkin about universities acceptin u, then i'll tell ya, they're after money, that's all.
but on the contrary, when you're after money (i.e. looking for a job), then things change slightly. you gotta have something big and bad.
cheers,

| Depends on the school. ITT and Devry cost $$$$$! But, depending on the degree, you can go far. You know, I just attended a job fair at one of our state colleges. They were offering Electrical Engineering seniors big bucks. If I had the time and the money, I'd go back to school for an EE. Good luck! | |

| Depends on the school & the degree. But in general a 2-yr degree is very valuable. A heck of a lot more valuable than a cert in terms of general education. The nice thing about a 2 year degree is if done right, all your generals will be finished, which in most 4 year unniversity's are usually the first 2 years. Meaning all you will have left is the main 2 years or less of any degree you try to attain when you go on. Then when you graduate you'll have 1-2 or more degrees, 1 or 2 2-yr degrees, and your 4-yr degree. |
