I've been having this problem for a while now. Whenever I try to add a new user to the server I get an error message saying that the Exchange Server Not Found. I don't have an Exchange Server. Why would I even get this message?

The other thing is that after the user has been added and I try to access resources on the Server I get "access denied", even though I have full access. The same is also true when I try to access resources on other workstations. I have administrator access and still am not allowed in.

I know I might be doing something wrong here, but what? I need a light at the end of this tunnel here.

Thanks a lot guys and gals.

Have you looked at the Microsoft knowledgebase articles to see if they give you any ideas. Try the one below:

http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...b;en-us;Q159199

Also, make sure the local Administrators group and the ID you are using are not disabled in user manager (if your only issue is file access.) This is definitely a weird one.

Have you looked in Event Viewer for any stop messages? If you see any error messages try searching the web for the Event ID and Source of the event error.

Have you rebooted the server recently? Were you once able to get access and now you can't? I did have a Netware 4 server that would deny access to the file system to any users, and once I rebooted it worked fine. There were no obvious abends recorded, but a service must have hosed on it at some point that needed restarted.

You mention trying to access resources after adding users, but I'm not sure whether you're trying to access resources as the user, or as you logged in locally as Administrator. I had a webserver on which one of the local IDs that was in the Local Admin. group, but would not allow when Administrator access with that ID. I didn't mess with it long, and never really solved it, because we were rebuilding the server anyway.
