What other hobbies/interests do you have beyond work or studying for that 11th certification!

I love playing sports of all kinds, expecially golf & soccer(football). Both are really relaxing after a long day at the office.

I really love coaching. I've been coaching soccer for 4 years now & I just love it more & more every year. It's a great release from IT. I love sharing my skills with the kids & showing them how to really appreciate & excel at the greatest game on earth! Soccer isn't as big a sport over here as it should be, so I try to help make it a bigger part of these kids' lives. I love the way they hate to see the season end, how they put their heart into every game down to the last whistle. It's the greatest feeling, win or lose, because of how much they learn after each & every game! They are all winners in my book!

But enough about me, I'd like to know what some of your other interests are!

I spend most of my time wacking the mouse on my PIII machine. If I'm not studying for exams, I'm surfing around the web, downloading mp3's, gaming, watching movies and when the weather is nice go biking. And of course I'm posting here. My other passion is graphic design and during my spare time I'm working on some projects. But my summer vacation ends and soon I'm starting school. Then I haven't much free time.

I like music, mostly hard rock.
I compose and record music on my home studio "built around my PC" I wish Cakewalk had a Certification hehe.

I also like fantasy and Sci Fi books but I only have time to read technical books and certification guides so I checkout audio books from the public library to listen to when I go on my weekly visits to some of our remote networks.

Anything outdoors, mountain biking with a bunch of kids (not mine, I just get 'em all muddy & send 'em home!), Backpacking, & poking around on tele boards looking for un tracked snow in the winter.

Mr. Linux Guy: Interesting how beer is listed numerous times. Are you drunk behind console again? Don't compute and drink, you might forget your root password like I did.

Are you kidding dude? I have altered "login" so that it doesn't even prompt me any more. Heh heh. Did I mention that homebrewing was one of me favourite pasttimes?

do you use gas or secondary fermentation to get the fizz in your beer?

the first batch i made, i bottled. i didn't crown them right. so i had flat beer. LOL.

i was more of a wine brewer. the secret with wine is to forget about it. one year i bottled 20 gallons of the stuff. i felt like dean martin.

When I'm not hanging out here with you guys or studying for a test I enjoy teaching my Macaw to talk (okay, trying to teach her to say more than "hello") Gotta' be patient - after all she's not yet one!

I also enjoy taking the dog for a nice walk in the local mountains or if I'm frustrated and feel like hitting something I grab my golf clubs and head to the driving range to name a few choice balls "Bill" and whack the crap out them.

I've also been known to dust off the mountain bike and ride in the hills or the road bike and ride along the coastline.

I have lots of hobbies outside of IT, I just don't get to do them that often. Here's my list in no particular order:

Golfing about twice per month.

Fourwheeling- I'm slowly rebuilding my FJ40 Landcruiser.

Coach my son's flag football team. Next year it's on to YAFL!

Take daughter to ballet and gymnastics.

Watching the San Diego Chargers try to climb out of the cellar.

Volunteer-teach kids to swim.

And, taking my wife to an occasional dinner without the kids.

Oh, yeah, I can't forget Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge!

are you kidding / If not work/certs GAME time

Working 72 hours a week (Nights no less) makes it hard to find time for anything else, so when I'm not working I'm either...

1) Sleeping
2) Eating
3) Studying
4) Gaming, though thats gonna have to be cut down before I become a very poor divorcee

You'll see that even Drinking ain't listed in that list , Which reminds me it's high time I went on a bender been about 4 months since the last one

Sounds familiar... I just capped a 77 hour work week last week. It gets to be long & takes up all your free time. This week should be more normal, closer to 50 hours!

When not letting my life disappear into an RPG. By the way don't play Fallout 2. More addictive than narcotics.

When not sitting at a keyboard, I spend as much time as possible reading the classics.
