| that gator guy has probably nothing to do with advertising. he was probably invented by some tech who realised if he could screw every pc on the planet he could increase his pc repair trade. | |

| Thats the problems with windows innit.
Installing shit software that installs its own components,drvrs etc and puts itself in the start up. Its like building a house of cards.
keeps us in a job though I spose.

| about a year ago, i downloaded the lastest audiogalaxy and a few days later the pc refused to connect to the net. i contacted the isp and got advice. didn't work. i gave up after my third call to their technical support. then the audiogalaxy download hit me. i uninstalled everything i did not use and the machine worked alright.
i hadn't realised it at the time, by gator came with the audiogalaxy download and had screwed up something (i can't for the life of me remember what it was - some socket or other i think). i think the support calls cost me something like £20 on that bill.
i tell you, i try to keep my eyes on what downloads now. i got stung with a virus around the same time, when i decided that kazaa would save me some money on music.
it pays to be a good boy. | |
