| Hey guys (and grils )
I'm new to the site. I recently passed both parts of the A+ and have that certification. I am planning to get as many exams as I possibly can under my belt within the next couple of years.
I was hoping some of you who have taken several exams could offer some guidence on a logical progression.
For example, a lot of the microsoft tests cover networking topics, so logical progression to me would be to take my Net+ first.
Basically, I'm trying to keep my ideas/learning on topic as much as I can. Thoughts, ideas, hate mail, is all acceptible
Thanks in advance for any input.

| Net+ would be a good one. Add that to your A+ and you'll only need 3 MS exams for the MCSA. Also Net+ would probably help you with CCNA. | |

| Well I'm kind of in the same boat as you, I have had my A+ for about 2 years now (been in IT biz off and on for about 18 months) and I need to get the Novell CNA cert for work, then I plan on getting an MCP and after that then go for the Net+. I figure since Net+ covers both Microsoft's networking software and Novell's I should be in good shape for it after getting the CNA and MCP, but that's just my opinion. | |

| Good idea- but Novell and Cisco are out of my realm i think. I find basic networking ok, but novell i don't see being in business in 5 years since M$ stole NDS to make active directory. I'm more on the microsoft track and possibly Oracle | |

| even for techs not following mcse or mcsa track, i think that mcp in w2k pro or xp pro would also be an advantage. | |

| Yeah I plan on getting my MCP hopefully sometime in the next 12 months but I doubt I will persue an MCSE, there are just to many out there and the pay isn't worth it in most cases. Instead I will probably try to go for a Novell CNE as my work will be using a Novell network for the forseeable future and personally I like Novell better than M$ for networks. |
