| It's an interesting project - both because of what they're searching for and because it's a hugely sucessfull implementation of distributed processing. I've been running thier software on some of my PCs for a while and have managed to complete just over 1,000 units  | |

| That's been around for a while. I've used it on and off. I haven't used it in quite a while though. I always wanted to be the one to discover ET. | |

| io had it working on a pervious pc. i just found it too slow. not sure if i completed any units or not. now, if i was head of i.t. in some firm, i would suggest using it there. that would be fun.
came across the link to it originally via a free webspace provider i was using. | |

| I have seti@home running on my home server which has a 1.1GHz Athlon. It's on 24 hours a day, pumping out units every 8-10 hours. This server has high disk and memory utilization but other then seti, the processor utilization is very low which explains my high number. I run this program on a couple other PCs but they all have slower processors and are only on when I'm using them. I think around 90% of those units were completed by this Athlon. | |

| One account can be used on several machines at the same time? That's great! We can register an account named cert21 and the members will be able to log on with this account(if someone is interested of course). What do you think about this? | |

I too have at least seen this program in action.
I bet if we ever do find life like this then they're real nasty. How nasty can you get? ... well, I mean REAL nasty.

| I've got my machine running it. Not that I think there will be much success, but most of the fun's in the searching, right? I am surprised there are not more projects like this to make use of large scale distrubuted processing. Kind of like the VLA, only with computers instead of radio telescopes. |
