I logged on this morning to find 3,700 new posts since last visit - then I noticed that News Groups had appeared on the forum. Anyone else get this?

We now give access to some popular usener newsgroups.

We downoaded a lot of threads from newsgroups to get this project started.

Later our server will only download the latest posts from those newsgroups every hour and upload any replies that coming from our usenet mirror forums.

I plan to add about 5 more related usenet newsgroups to our forums.

Just read the announcement in any of the newsgroup forums.

We'll figure out some issues as we go along, but as of now, this usenet gateway seems to function well.

By the way, the usenet forums are synchronized with usenet every hours on 25 minutes past the hour. (1:25, 2:25, 3:25, etc.)

One more nice things is that your forum signatures are also uploaded to usenet as signatures.

Pretty cool stuff.

Very cool integration. Was it a pain to set up, or was it pretty straight forward?

It was not very easy - but finally it looks like it's working well.

Thanks for the newsgroups. Another nice feature setting ExamNotes high above the rest.

I think that it is a fantastic addition. I am sure it took some of your time to set up, but I am sure that it is worth it and will prove to be even better in the short and long term as far as site exposure and gaining new valuable members for this site.

I think thecomeons means that Mr Meyers visits the usenet newsgroups.

I know that he also visits our regular forums, so you can try to ask him a questions right in our A+ forum.

Actually Mike won't be in the A+ newsgroup for a couple of months while he's working on a new top secret book that he refers to as a labour of love.

Does anybody know his screen name so I could look up his posts?

Just want to say I added newsgroups network-plus, i-net-plus, cne, and os.linux to the list of available newsgroups.

Also replaced studygroup.cisco with the alt.certification.cisco for all cisco exams.

Enjoy!

On usenet his screen name is Mike Meyers.

Comeons - I don't think its romantic fiction. He won't even tell me exactly what it is - just that it's a labour of love for him.

Though I like new ideas I am finding it difficult to sieve through the hundreds of non-Examnotes posts to get to posts posted by regular members. I have now taken to going to individual forums from the main menu. Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me?
