| "Beta" version of the "Firewall & VPN Technologies in the Enterprise"
Certification Exam will be available for candidates to take through
Prometric Testing Centers (for a "limited time only") starting July 2,
2002.
You are invited to participate in this early tryout version of this exam to
help us analyze the exam's performance and to build
high quality final released exams that effectively measure the critical
skills of Firewall & VPN professionals.
What is the fee for the beta exam ?
There will be no charge for "Beta" candidates
When will the beta be offered ?
Exams are offered for a limited time only........
Firewall & VPN Technologies in the Enterprise .... from July 2, 2002 -
through - July 24, 2002
What is required from a beta exam candidate ?
You will be answering a full bank of items (approx 200 items) that will be
used to create two final versions of the exam. The maximum time allocated
for the beta exam is 3 1/2 hours. You will also be asked to provide
comments (as you feel appropriate) and to complete a short experience
profile (required).
When will you receive your results ?
Once the formal "Beta" period is closed, we will evaluate the performance
of the items (questions and answers) to create the final exam content.
Your score on the exam will be based on the "final" exam items only - and
will not include any items that are eliminated. You will be notified of
your exam score approximately 6-8 weeks after the close of the beta period.
Does this exam count toward Symantec Certification?
Passing this Beta exam will count toward your requirements for
Certification as a "Symantec Certified Security Engineer (SCSE) in Firewall
& VPN Technologies".
How and when can you sign up ?
Please contact Prometric by phone starting July 1, 2002 to register and
schedule a convenient time to sit the exam.

Attached is the Firewall & VPN Technologies in the Enterprise "Exam
Objectives" document.
This document includes a listing of topics included in the Firewall & VPN
Technologies in the Enterprise exam.

All "Beta" Exam Registration MUST be scheduled via telephone by contacting
Prometric directly. "Online" registration is available for released exams
only.
