| Hello Everyone! I have a question about Windows 2000 and the function of PDC emulator.
In order for NT 4.0 clients to authenticate to a Windows 2000 Domain controller, does there HAVE to be a PDC emulator on the network? Will the Windows 2000 Domain Controller fall back from Kerbros to NTLM?
Also...
When switching from Mixed Mode to Native mode, if you have a trust to an NT Domain, will that trust be compromised? Will everything still function between a Native mode 2000 Domain, and an NT 4.0 domain????
Answers will be GREATLY appreciated!!!
Thanks for all the support guys!

You do need a PDC emulator when running a NT DC and Win2000 AD. They'er two diffrent directory tipe's and not compatible without the PDC.
Mix Mode is when you have a network that consist of win98/95 and NT's with the win2000.
Native mode is when you have only win 2000 pro and server, or the advance server on the network using the AD. |
