Author Scheduling services in NT Workstation?

Howdy all,

Does anyone know the command line for stopping and starting a service on NT? I want to use a .bat file to schedule a service to stop at a specific time in the evening, and then schedule it to restart the next morning.

Right now it's being done manually, or else the backup doesn't work properly. What a pain.

Is it not net stop "service name"?

I thought that only worked for certain Media services???

This is a Linux website, but it will show you the equivalent commands for NT. Using the net stop command isn't only for media. From there you can stop, for example, DNS, DHCP, print spooler, etc.

Neat. Thanks -- this solves my problem big time. After all, you have to be able to sneak out early every now and then
