| This is nothing comparing to the real story I witnessed while working in the computer shop
A customer bought a computer from us and then called the same day saying that the computer does not recognize the CD-ROM drive.
Tech support guy, who was not a native English speaker told him to open "my computer" and then look in the control panel.
After a while a customer said, hold, on I think I see it, let me get my screw driver.
Why? asked the tech support.
Customer said, well, I opened your computer, but I still don't see a control panel, how is it supposed to look like?
Apparently, he really opened the computer and was looking for some sort of control panel inside the computer. He thought that it was some kind of a device.

| A year ago, I was programming a database for one of the larger insurance companies in my state. The computers they had were awful things that still ran Windows 3.1 and took about three minutes to boot up.
One morning I turned on my computer and waited for it to boot. Just as it loaded Windows, it started rebooting all over again. I waited again, and it did it again. After about ten times, I began to wonder. I would have just loaded DOS and found the problem, but one of the security systems on the computers there automatically rebooted the computer if you went to a DOS prompt.
So I called tech support and explained the problem.
Tech Support: "Ok sir, have you tried rebooting the computer?"

| If I were the Tech Support, I would tell you "Probably your Windows is outdated. It has this feature of rebooting itself repeatedly, just an indication that you should get a newer version. Oh, one more thing... Repeatedly rebooting may cause the hard disk to explode. If I were you, I would get a newer hard disk with and install a newer version of Windows."
Just kiddin'. |
