I never trusted M$ anyways, they get more corrupt and foolish. I run RH, Debian, Freebsd. M$ is ruining itself really quick

I never could get my X Server up and running with FreeBSD or Slackware, so am sticking to Red Hat for now.

You're kidding, right? Real Software is the *original* privacy snoop. M$ probably got the idea from them.

Simple solution. Get a firewall that pervents access both ways. www.tinysoftware.com
its free. I just deny all windows components access when they ask. Hell, my win explorer tried to access the net. lol

Huntert is right. M$ is surprising stupid (didn't know that they could be THAT STUPID) to introduce that "activation" crap for Windows XP and Office XP. That idea really pisses a lot of people off. Also, it is not a secret that Windows Media Player 8 sends info from your PC to Microsoft. Anyone wouldn't like such sneaky things going on within one's computer.

That is why I am not going to use Windows XP, Media Play 8 and Office XP. Stay clear from these and life will be less frustrating. In future, I will no go for any Windows upgrade. Who can be sure that it is not doing sneaky things or not in the background.
