| Once again I turn to my friends on this site to help out with a question that I have with W2KPro. Every time I change a file extention there is a confirmation box that pops up asking if Im sure that I want to do this. How do I get rid of this annoying little thing. I want to be able to change file extentions with out this box popping up every time. Im thinking that it has somthing to do with the registry. Maybe Im wrong though.
Please teach me.....

| I try to stay out of the registry as much as possible but I'm sure there is someway you can do it from in there. I don't think you can check a button or anything, if thats what your asking. | |

| Windows is filled with hundreds of different dialog boxes. Every single one of them I find to have a certain degree of being annoying. But you know what, you just have to deal with them. Every time I delete a file it always asks me if I am sure I want to delete it. (Unless you hold shift down). Just click yes for God sakes. It's really not even that toilsome. You probably don't even have to click yes, its probably highlighted by default, so just hit enter. Why are you changing so many file extensions for the message to get bothersome? I'm not trying to be a jackass, I just don't understand. | |

| I can't answer kevkid's question, but I can fix yours Slinky. Right click on the Recycle Bin and select Properties. Uncheck the box that says something like "Display delete confirmation dialog box."
All those "are you sure" boxes annoy the hell out of me, too. 'Specially when I'm trying to get something done and the idiot boxes keep showing up.
I think kevkid's annoyance can be turned off too (without editting the registry), but I can't remember how and I don't have Win2k running on anything right now. | |

Thanks for the pointer. I can honestly say I did not know that. I probably never would have figured it out because its not really that annoying. Because I hold shift down to bypass the recycle bin and it won't ask you if you are sure. I can't stand having it full. | |

| Thanks for your replys guys and gals. Its no big deal if there is no way around it. My cuz works for SUN and he was compiling different builds for different web sites and he just mentioned it. He can change the file extension different ways. He was just curious and so was I....thats all.
Slinky....it sounds like your alittle annoyed at the question. What difference does it make that Im renaming alot of file extensions. Next time just try giving an answer.

That code is part of the OS.However for your own app you certainly dont have to have that MsgBox or any other you dont want.They are easily manipulated in VB or C#. |
