| OK here's the question, I have this A: drive that is making me nuts. Whenever I go into My Computer or Windows Explorer, the system attempts to access the A: (Floppy) drive. It only does this once and that occurs after a reboot or initial startup. I've done all that I can think of (i.e. remove/replace the drive, uninstall/install, etc) but nothing works!! Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? | |

| ,,,,it turned out to be a shortcut on my desk pointing to the A drive. Removed the - no longer needed - shortcut and end of problem.

| It may be your anti-virus software. Look into your av configuration for an advanced setting to disable floppy scan on boot or shut-down. You may also want to change the active scan mode to limit resource use by eliminating active scanning of all files. | |

| There are many factors to cause it, u might need a little time to cool down and look into the system.
U will find out soon.. | |

| Have you tried clearing out the Recent files from the Documents list in the Start Menu. I had a PC that would access the A: drive sporadically for no reason and it was from a document listed in the Recent folder. | |

| Had one that did this everytime you wanted to right click on anything. Turned out to be a virus. Update and scan. |
