Peer to Peer losing connection

| Hi,
I just installed a peer to peer network: Dell Dimension running Win2k Pro as a "server" w/several applications installed. Win98 workstations connect via tcp/ip through a 10/100 hub. They connect just fine at login, but after being idle for 10-20 minutes any network request to the Win2K machine times out. A fresh login connects just fine. I have created a host files on each workstation. I am using fixed ip addresses, I have set up profiles on the Win2K machine mapping an F drive to the shared folder in question for each user. I had an unmanaged switch and replaced it with a hub, no change, also tried half vs full duplex. Any suggestions out there?
Thanks everybody.

| Try config the Win98 clients not to become master browser. | |

Thanks, but I have already tried that too.

I am about ready to try another brand of nic.
The 2000 machine has an Intel pro100 card, workstations cheap generic 10/100s. | |
