Yes, it is the very laptop on which all the MCSEFreakPress study guides were written

It is a Sony VAIO PCG-F560. It is a Pentium III with 128MB of RAM. It comes with a built-in DVD player, a FireWire port, floppy, a 10/100 NIC, and more features than I can list. Go here for a complete list:

http://lhd.zdnet.com/db/dispproduct.php3?DISP?2292

It is a *used* laptop, so there are minor blemishes, specifically where the palm of my hands rest when I type, but it is a great laptop guaranteed not DOA. However, it is sold "as-is" hence the low asking price of $650 shipping included. It comes with Windows 98 and a slew of installed goodies from Sony and Microsoft.

Interested? Note that fo $700 shipped, you get the laptop and a Sony USB CD Burner with all the cables.

Email me at dave@mcsefreak.com for info on how to purchase or to ask questions.

By the way, I am selling it because I bought a brand new laptop yesterday. I also bought a new P4 2Ghz w/ DVD burner and all the fixings. I need the dough

thaks, man. I am going to miss this loyal and trusty sidekick

By the way, I might even leave all the MCSE Freak Press study guide on the laptop

I can't wait to get that DVD burner in the desktop PC I got! This is going to be a sweet setup...

Make shure,you get the Pioneer DVD-R 03.
I am really happy with it.It burns DVD's at 2,5 X and CD's at 8 X.
I have seen it at local Computershows for as little as $325.
Online, like www.pricewatch.com sells it for $345 plus shipping and Handling.

I bought the pioneer six Month ago,and it was still quite expensive.
Blank Media has come down as well.
Last week i picked up 10 DVD's for $28.
It's really starting to make sense...
Don't expect to burn DVD-Movies that you pick up at your local Blockbuster,though...
There is a lot more to it...
Just my 10 cents.

The box I bought already has the burner in it. It is part of the Sony VAIO digital series. It is the PCV-RX581 model. Pretty sweet I must say! I probably will get rid of one of my other d-tops as well at some point to make room for this puppy... I don't want to copy movies. I already own over 100 DVDs. I want to create movies of my kids from my Mini DV SOny Camcorder and send them to my folks back in France... but thanks for your post!

It will break my heart to see it go, but with all the gear I just bought, it has to go... fast

I tried to price it accordingly, but I am open to (reasonable) offers..

I'd rather see it go to a good house where I know the person who gets it. I will go the ebay route if I have to...

That's a good deal. MY friend just sold the same laptop for almost $1000 and it did not even had a CD burner.

Maybe you should attach a picture of it.

I already have a laptop but that new system you got sounds like a winner. I am thinking of getting a DVD-burner for my desktop computer at home any good ideas?? I will ask around about your laptop.

with all due respect, nobody would sell a laptop of that quality with those features for that price. As a matter of fact, they have Sony Vaio laptops for above a grand on ebay and their affiliate Half.com...

Check out this link:

http://www.half.com/cat/buy/prod.cg...45&domain_id=23

you will see that the cheapest one is $800 before shipping costs...

I sold a laptop on eBay. It was an old ThinkPad 560 P133. Quite obsolete when I sold it about 2 years ago. Didn't even have a CD player. I got $550 for it, which was about twice what I thought it was worth!

Freak, there's something wierd about wanting to find a good home for your old computer

Well on Ebay you can set a reserve price if you do want a price met for your product that you are selling.

At least that is what I always do

Well, I guess it's good to see that animism is alive and well.

But just for the record, my laptop has never purred when it's glad to see me or stuck it's face in my dinner plate when I'm having salmon And I'm happy that my computers do what I tell the to and stay put where I leave them!

(But one of these days, my laptop will come when I call it!)
