Where do I put Wins settings into a Imac ?
| Hiyas, I have a bit of a problem, I cant connect an Imac to a Exchange server which is on another subnet. I can connect no problem with PC's using wins, but In a mac, there's no setting in TCP/IP for putting in the wins server's IP. The mac can ping the exchange server, but cannot connect over netbios.
any ideas ? | |

| thanks gareth, but I already have Dave installed on the mac. There does'nt seem to be anywhere to configure the IP of a wins server
I've tried putting the IP of the wins server in the 'Name Server' section of TCP/IP, but still no luck ! God I love Mac's !! | |

| forget it !, I found it, stupid me !!

| I do not know what kind of MacOs you running , but as far as I know WINS is a windows thing ONLY. It is a Microsoft thing. You have to use DNS and list them under name server. You question is also very vague. If you are setting up a MS outlook, make sure your IP is working (Try to go to the internet...). If you do have an IP number, you will not be able to create a profile from outlook settings. |
