| IM STUCK - Which cert looks best on a resume?
I dont know which one to take next.

| I think the majority of employers are looking for experience and not certs. If you are looking for a cert that may get you the interview, then I would have to say the MCSE would be you best choice. Atleast that is the way it is where I live. It also depends on the job that you want too. In todays IT market it really is up to you what cert you want to get next, because employers are looking for more than certs. | |

| Personally, PotatoHead, I think you should focus your certifications around the specific area of technology you are going to desire a job in.
If you desire to be an engineer, then go after MCSE, CCNE. If you want to be a system administrator then pursue MCSA, CCNA, etc. If you have no actual paid job experience, too many certifications on your resume will hurt you in the end.
Whichever direction you go in, you can't go wrong with the basic CompTIA certs. Also, if you are trying to get your first IT job, then you should grab A+ and Net+ and expect to answer phones at the help desk. It's the best way to get your foot in the door and gives you exposure to everyone and allows you some time to see what other areas of IT there are.

| Well as of now I'm in college workin on a degree and taking some certs during my free time. | |

I agree this is the way you should go. Your still in school, maybe the Server+ might help you out with a better understanding of your classes even more. Server+ being vender neutral.

No telling. I noticed today that there were alot of old threads near the top. The ones that were current this morning were on the second page, (after listing for the past 5 days!) Strange!

I agree with this, is there a way to lock a thread after say 10 days in existence if there is no response to it?

| Yeah, read my "What do you hate?" poll response. This is why I choose *Polls. I hate it when people go through all the polls and answer them, then they all show up on the most recent posts.
